Game Summary: The Sugar Land Space Cowboys held the Oklahoma City Dodgers scoreless for the first time all season as they won 6-0 Tuesday at Constellation Field. The Space Cowboys (20-38/53-80) took the early 1-0 lead with a RBI single from Pedro León in the first inning before J.J. Matijevic added to the lead with a two-run single to make it 3-0. The Dodgers (30-28/80-51) were able to dance around danger in the third and fourth innings, loading the bases but keeping Sugar Land from scoring. Oklahoma City had a chance to make a dent in the deficit with runners on the corner in the fifth, but a two-out ground out from Jonny DeLuca kept the Dodgers off the scoresheet. David Hensley finally punished the Dodgers with the bases loaded, making it 5-0 with a two-run double in the bottom of the frame. A balk with the bases loaded made it 6-0 later in the inning. The Sugar Land pitching kept the Dodgers at bay for the remainder of the game, setting down the final 13 batters to preserve the shutout.

Of Note:

- With the loss, the Dodgers have now lost six consecutive series openers and were shut out for the first time this season. The last time the Dodgers were held scoreless was Sept. 14, 2022 in a seven-inning, 2-0 loss at Albuquerque. The last nine-inning shutout was July 30, 2022 in a 6-0 loss to Sugar Land. Additionally, Oklahoma City has not won three consecutive games since Aug 2-4 against Round Rock.

-Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder/designated hitter J.D. Martinez opened a Major League Rehab Assignment and went 0-for-4 . The six-time MLB All-Star is recovering from a groin injury that placed him on the injured list Aug. 22.

-Pitcher Mike Montgomery (3-4) went just four innings and allowed three earned runs on five hits while issuing a career-high six walks. It was his fifth consecutive game allowing three or more earned runs after allowing just three total earned runs in the month of July.

-Three Dodgers were ejected from the game Tuesday. Miguel Vargas and manager Travis Barbary were ejected in the third inning after a checked swing, while bench coach Chris Gutierrez was ejected after a balk was called in the sixth.

-The Dodgers pitching staff allowed eight walks and allowed at least two batters to reach base in six of the eight innings pitched.

-Justin Yurchak went 2-for-3 with a double and accounted for half of the Dodgers' four hits on the evening. It was his 15th multi-hit game and his first since Aug. 27 against Albuquerque when he went 3-for-5 with a double in a 14-0 Oklahoma City victory.
